New Online Banking Security Feature to Protect Your Personal Information

Cyber criminals are becoming more sophisticated, and BLC is dedicated to helping keep your information safe and secure. The protection of your personal information is very important to us, and we are pleased to announce an added login security feature, called SecureNow.

Starting on October 26, 2022, your Personal Online Banking and Mobile Banking experience will include the NEW security features. SecureNow helps guard your personal information by adding another layer of identity verification to online financial interactions. When you log in to your account through our website or Mobile Banking app, you will be asked to set up your verification phone number and choose your preferred delivery method – text message or phone call. Your enrollment in this new security process is required.

How does the new security feature work?

The first time you log in you will need to choose a phone number for how you want to receive your one-time passcode.  You will also have the option of updating the number at this time. In the future, this number may be used to help authenticate your identity. You will then receive a message (text or voice) on your phone with an 6-digit code. You will be asked to enter this code to complete the login process on your computer. This feature takes the place of answering security questions when logging into online banking. This feature will be available in the mobile app with the release of Mobiliti 18.4.

The additional layer of protection confirms not only your credentials, but also the device you are using during log in. During future logins, if the system detects a new device or suspicious activity, you may be asked to verify your identity with a one-time passcode sent to your phone.

NOTE: Passcode will either come from SMS Short Code 36397 or Caller ID of (920) 788-4141.

When the passcode has been entered, and “continue” is selected, the user will be taken to the home screen and you can continue as usual.
